„Only because you like your invention does not mean that someone else will buy it.“
This statement above is the foundation of what critical perspective we will be taking during this workshop. Creativity and passion are key elements to being an active inventor, but knowing your customer and creating products that speak to them is the key to being a successful entrepreneur.
We will discuss examples of inventions that failed vs. ideal innovations and identify what factors are critical to reading the market. Knowing the target user will be the starting point from which we will use to find the path to begin building the perfect product.
In conclusion, a short summary of financial grants will be presented that are availble to help you bring your product to market.
Throughout the semester, independent projects can be built in the campus rapid prototyping lab with the use of large format 3D printers, soldering irons, lathes, milling machines, welders and much more.
